Business Conduct

As a business we focus on maintaining a strong and competent service, treating clients as mutual partners and working with sub-contractors, suppliers and our workforce fairly and ethically. Waitings reputation dictates a high level of quality, robust management systems and safe working environments. It is our goal to safely complete all projects on time, within budget and to the required quality.

 

Health, Safety and Welfare

We are committed to planning and executing all operations in a manner that safeguards the health, safety and welfare of all employees, supply chain, clients, and the public. Waitings advocate a behavioral safety and worker engagement approach to HSW. A change in safety culture through training seminars and incentive schemes results in every worker becoming responsible for HSW in the workplace.

All our employees work in accordance with our Integrated Management System that is accredited. This provides clear guidance and instruction to our site teams and ensures that they follow the requirements of legislation and best practice.

We are experienced Principal Contractor and fully understand our responsibilities under the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015. Our skilled Site Mangers hold a minimum of SMSTS certification and take ownership of a site and the regulations pertaining, whilst our experienced and highly qualified HSQE (Health, Safety,Quality & Environment) department is dedicated to improving all areas within our business.

We continuously monitor work at all levels to maintain our accreditations, improve the business and strive to become an ‘injury free workplace’.

Environmental

Although our work involves improving the environment, we also acknowledge that our operations have a direct impact upon the environment.  All significant corporate and project environmental issues are identified in order to respond sensitively and sensibly to the interface of our works and the surroundings.

All our employees work in accordance with our Integrated Management System. This provides clear guidance and instruction to our site teams and ensures that they follow the requirements of legislation and best practice.

All our staff receive regular Environmental Training to ensure the environmental effects of our works is negligible.

We continually look at ways of reducing the impact we have on the environment as a result of our business operations.  Through innovation and a proactive attitude we aim to achieve our following objectives, our results are annually recorded and monitored through our KPI’s:-

  • Reduce the amount of waste taken to landfill

  • Increase the amount of recycled material

  • Reduce our energy usage

  • Reduce our water usage

  • Maintain the use of fleet using bio-degradable oils

  • Maintain zero environmental incident rates

  • Retain accreditations

  • Maintain zero prosecutions
